Submissions
Welcome fellow creatives! We open submissions for ghost flower twice a year, in February and September. This journal is hosted by the OSU Newark campus Creative Writing Club and curated by a team of talented student editors.
Criteria
Each submission must meet all of the following guidelines to be accepted.
- We are seeking original poetry, short fiction, short creative nonfiction, photography, and artwork for cover and content.
- Submissions must be made by an OSU or COTC student or alumni.
- Submissions must contain words in some form. Photography and artwork requires either a title or caption (with the exception of cover-art submissions).
- Submissions must have some sort of correlation to the theme of that issue.
- Total submissions from each author must not exceed fifteen (15) standard pages (double-spaced, 12pt, Times New Roman, 1-inch margins).
- Nothing in a submission can appear to be intentionally offensive, to be inciting hate, or to contain gratuitous violence toward any person or group based on gender, race, religion, ethnicity, disability, national origin, or sexual orientation.
- Each submission must be emailed as a separate .doc or .docx file (images must be JPEG format) attachment with the subject line: (Author’s Name) spring issue submission (genre(s) of works). For example: Jane Smith, spring issue submission, poetry/fiction
- When a piece of work is accepted, its author must sign an author agreement and approve a final proof before the print deadline in order to be published.
Submissions are open!
The submission window for the spring issue is from February 10th though February 23rd, 2020. Print deadline is set for March 30th.
